The Pillars of Sailboat Racing

Successful sailboat racing requires a particular set of skills unique to the sport. The links above and to the left attempt to subdivide these skills into the main areas of specialty so that visitors to this site can better locate areas of interest.

A Work in Progress

As you browse this site, you will no doubt find areas where the content ends. Some day, this will be one of the most comprehensive teaching and learning tools on the Internet for those interested in sailboat racing. That huge undertaking cannot be accomplished overnight. Our approach is to complete this site the same way you would eat an elephant - One Bite at a Time!! So bear with us and watch us grow.

If you become impatient or have a topic you wish covered in more detail, please click on the email link at the bottom of any page and let us know. We will make every attempt to make the content here user-driven, so your requests will have priority.

Behind the goal of serving our visitors, here is the work list of desired additions and improvements to this site:

  1. Complete every page and branch of this site to the "beginner" level so that all of the main terms, topics and areas of sailboat racing are covered.
  2. Install a forum software (Bulletin Board) so members can discuss all aspects of racing. (Probably PHPBBS since I'm just learning PHP.)
  3. Complete a detailed check-list of the important factors to consider while racing.
